Twelve people are receiving treatment at Machakos Level Five Hospital after the vehicle they were traveling in was involved in an accident along the Machakos-Kitui road.

According to Mwala Sub County Police Commander Nancy Jerobon, the accident occurred at Makutano ma Mwala area within the sub-county on Sunday February 11, 2024.

Jerobon said the incident happened around 5:45 am when a mini-bus and a mini-matatu collided.

“It so happened that a Mitsubishi FH driver heading towards Machakos collided with a Toyota Hiace motor vehicle moving in the same direction,” she said.

The police report stated that the two vehicles were damaged as a result of the impact, and the victims sustained injuries to their legs, back, and hands.

The police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
