14-year-old girl flees after taking away father’s life using a knife

Authorities in Oyam District are actively searching for a 14-year-old girl.

Sadly, she stands accused of fatally stabbing her father, Emmanuel Otim.

This tragic incident unfolded in Ajaya Village, Loro Sub-county.

The distressing event occurred on a fateful Tuesday at approximately 3:25 p.m.

The victim, Emmanuel Otim, returned home drunk.


Upon arrival, he experienced a shock as he discovered his wife sharing a bed with their daughter.

Consequently, it ignited a heated argument that rapidly escalated into a violent altercation.

In the heat of the moment, the 14-year-old girl, now at large, grabbed a knife and viciously stabbed her father in the thigh near his genitals.

The brutal attack caused severe bleeding, forcing Otim to attempt to flee.

Tragically, he collapsed within the compound and succumbed to his injuries.

Anthony Ongom, the deceased’s landlord, swiftly reported the appalling incident to the police.

Prompting a response from a team of officers from Oyam Central Police Station, who joined forces with the Loro police to investigate the scene.

The lifeless body of the victim was carefully transported to a Health Centre, awaiting a postmortem examination.

Further, the police are intensifying their efforts to locate and apprehend the young suspect while condemning the horrifying incident.

Similarly, North Kyoga regional police spokesperson, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate tragedy.

He urged children to steer clear of involving themselves in their parents’ disputes.

Moreover, emphasizing the importance of seeking assistance from neighbors by raising an alarm instead.

The incident serves as a grim reminder of the dire consequences that can unfold from escalating family conflicts.
