17-year-old sells watermelons to fund college dream

Kennedy Miller is a 17-year-old with a dream. He sells watermelons to pay for his college tuition.

Inspired by his dad, who worked on watermelon farms when he was young, Kennedy embraced the entrepreneurial spirit early. In middle school, he sold candy and soda, learning the basics of business.

Now, Kennedy and his dad spend hours each day at a wholesale market, working hard to sell their watermelons. “We wake up early every morning to get there. The hours are long, and it’s very hot,” Kennedy explained.

Kennedy proudly sells Grapeland watermelons, which he believes are unbeatable. “It’s freshly picked, so it’s guaranteed to be sweet. They’re the best watermelons I’ve ever had,” he said.

Kennedy is saving his earnings to attend Texas A&M University. He dreams of becoming an executive producer and owning his own business.

“I want to be an executive producer when I get older. Owning my own business is something I want to do, and as an executive producer, I would be the head of a business too,”he shared.

His hard work and determination are paving the way for his bright future.
