Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday May 18, 2024 arrested two Nigerians and one Kenyan during a crackdown on drugs trafficking in Kasarani, Nairobi.
The three suspects were arrested over involvement in trafficking of Cocaine, Heroin and Methamphetamine in the country.
“Two Nigerian nationals and a Kenyan are in custody for their suspected involvement in the trafficking of Cocaine, Heroin and Methamphetamine.
“Stephen Emenike, Chijioke Andrew Maduka and Margaret Wanjiku Kioni were ambushed by anti-narcotic operators at their hideout within Clay City, Kasarani yesterday,” read part of DCI report.
During the incident, drugs estimated at a street value of over Ksh1.3 million, three weighing machines and various packaging materials were recovered.
Currently, the suspects are in police custody as police continue with investigations before arraigning them in court on Monday May 20.
The arrest comes a few days after three Nigerians and a Kenyan were arrested on March 16 night in an ongoing crackdown on drug traffickers and peddlers in Nairobi.
The crackdown is being conducted by a joint operation being spearheaded by Anti-Narcotics and Transnational Organized Crimes detectives.
The first suspect, Igboke Okwuchukwu Stephen was found with several pellets of brown powdery substance concealed in his house at Nasra Estate, Nairobi.
He was booked at Muthaiga Police Station.
