2025 NCBA Kenya Invitational Junior Golf Tournament: all you need to know

The prestigious 2025 NCBA Kenya Invitational Junior Golf Tournament is set to take place from Saturday, January 4th, to Monday, January 6th, at the scenic Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

A Global Showcase of Junior Talent

Organized by the Junior Golf Foundation, Kenya (JGF) in collaboration with U.S. Kids Golf and proudly sponsored by NCBA, this highly anticipated tournament will feature over 116 junior golfers from Kenya and various countries, including:

  • Africa: Uganda, Tanzania, DR Congo, South Sudan, South Africa, Nigeria
  • Europe: Germany
  • Asia: India, China

Competition Format

The event is structured into age-specific categories for players aged 5 to 18 years, with tailored yardages for each age group. This multi-day championship also serves as the culmination of the 2024 Junior Series Calendar, providing an opportunity for junior golfers to showcase their skills and earn recognition.

Additionally, the tournament will count towards the Order of Merit Points for both handicapped and non-handicapped boys and girls aged 15-18 years, under the Kenyan JGF system for 2024.

Speaking on the tournament’s significance, John Gachora, NCBA Group Managing Director, remarked:

“At NCBA, we are proud to support young people as they chase their dreams. Golf is a sport that teaches important values like hard work, patience, and integrity. Across the East African region, we sponsored over 42 junior tournaments in 2024. By supporting these tournaments, we are giving these young players a platform to showcase their talents and possibly take the next big step in their golfing journeys. Supporting juniors in golf plays a role in economic empowerment and in their future. We are also happy to play a part in putting Kenya and the region on the global golf map.”

Pathways to Global Recognition

The tournament offers young golfers a unique platform to:

  1. Earn U.S. Kids Golf Priority Status – Qualify for renowned events like the U.S. Kids Golf Major Championships, Regional, International, and World Teen Championships.
  2. Earn World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) Points – Open doors to higher-level competitions, further advancing their careers in golf.
