The stage is set for the 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship, with top clubs from across the continent gearing up for an intense battle in the group stage. The championship, which promises high-level competition, will feature 16 teams divided into four pools.
Pool A: Competitive clash of champions
In Pool A, Nigeria’s Customs Volleyball Club will face stiff competition from Mayo Volleyball Club of Cameroon, APR Volleyball Club from Rwanda, and Club Féminin de Carthage (CFC) from Tunisia. With Carthage boasting a strong history in the tournament, teams in this group will have to bring their best performance to advance to the knockout rounds.
Pool B: Egyptian giants meet Kenya’s finest
Pool B sees Zamalek Sporting Club (ZSC) of Egypt go head-to-head with Kenya Prisons (KP), one of Kenya’s most dominant teams. They will also battle against Nigeria’s Chief of Naval Staff Volleyball Team (CNS) and Botswana’s Spiking Stars Volleyball Club (SS). The matchup between Zamalek and Kenya Prisons is expected to be a thrilling contest, as both teams have a strong presence in African volleyball.
Pool C: Al Ahly eyes another title
Defending champions and African volleyball powerhouse Al Ahly Sporting Club (ASC) of Egypt will lead Pool C as they take on Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Volleyball Club La Loi (VCLL) from DR Congo, and Sococim Volleyball Club (SOC) from Senegal. KCB, fresh from their national league success, will be aiming to challenge Al Ahly’s dominance.
Pool D: Kenya Pipeline faces Rwandan challenge
In Pool D, Kenya’s Pipeline Women’s Volleyball Team (KPWT) will compete against Littoral Volleyball Club (Litto) from Cameroon, Rwanda National Police Volleyball Team (Police), and Descartes Volleyball Club from Côte d’Ivoire. Pipeline, known for its rich legacy in African volleyball, will look to make a deep run in the tournament.
