Two-time champions CFC (Tunisia) advanced to the quarterfinals after a convincing 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-20) victory over Sococim (Senegal) in the round of sixteen. However, they now face a stern test against Litto (Cameroon), who secured their place in the last eight with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-17) win over Chief Naval Staff (Nigeria). Al Ahly had a relatively easy path against the young Cameroonian team, but they now face a potentially tougher challenge against Kenya Prisons. Kenya Prisons narrowly avoided an upset, winning their Round of 16 tie against Rwanda Police in a thrilling 3-2 (25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-10) showdown.
