22-year-old lady arrested for impersonating a police officer

A lady by the name of Jacinta Ouma has been apprehended by law enforcement officers for impersonating a police officer.

Jacinta Merlin Ouma was arrested on January 16, 2024, in Bukhalalire, Butula Sub-County, Busia County.

Coincidentally, Ouma was apprehended by officers from Butula police station after a tip-off from the general public on her activities.

Ironically, the suspect was apprehended en route to Butula police station dressed in a GSU uniform with an AK47 riffle.

Jacinta appears in court

The suspect was arraigned in Busia High Court on January 17, 2024, before Magistrate Peter Oleng.

In a twist of events, the lady accused of impersonating an officer pleaded guilty to impersonation before Magistrate Oleng.

Jacinta will be remanded at Bumala police station for 21 days to enable the investigating officers to complete their investigations.

Reliable sources have told TV47 that the suspect has been roaming in police stations across the country.

From what has been unearthed by TV47, Jacinta’s areas of operation include but are not limited to Kabete police station, a slew of police stations in Kisumu, and Busia.

From exclusive first-hand information to TV47, Jacinta has routined duty officer activities posing as a police officer.

As police conduct investigations, the speculation is that Jacinta might have operated in more localities fronting herself as a legitimate member of law enforcement.
