Three people have been killed on the spot after a passenger bus belonging to Dreamline Company was involved in an accident in Londiani, Kericho County.
Police say the accident occurred at around 4:20 am Saturday, January 11 at Nukiat area along the Londiani Junction-Muhoroni Road.
The driver of the bus carrying 44 passengers — travelling from Mombasa to Port Victoria in Siaya — is said to have lost control of it while negotiating a corner. As a result, the bus landed on the left side of the road as one faces Muhoroni direction from Londiani.
The three people (two adults and a child) died on the spot.
All the 41 injured passengers were rushed to Londiani Sub-County Hospital with serious injuries. A total of 14 passengers had serious injuries while 31 had slight injuries.
Traffic police officers attending the accident scene are holding the driver — who has since been identified as one Abdalla Masen Mohamed — for interrogation.
