42-year-old Sarah Wilkinson made the choice to hold her own wedding ceremony.
With her best friend presiding over the event at Harvest House in Felixstowe, Suffolk.
Sarah, a credit controller, shared that this was the natural progression after she indulged herself with an engagement ring.
“The ceremony wasn’t an official wedding, but to me, it was my wedding day.

I reached a point where I thought, ‘I might not have a partner by my side for this, but why should I miss out?’
Sarah, who lives in the UK, spent a total of £10,000 on the celebration.
The result of years of dedicated saving and adding any unexpected windfalls, such as bingo winnings.
She was surrounded by 40 of her closest family and friends during the daytime ceremony, with another 40 people joining the festivities in the evening at the nearby tennis club.

Typical Sarah behaviour
Sarah revealed that her friends weren’t taken aback by her unconventional plan to stage her own wedding.
“No one stopped smiling all day, and everyone remarked on what a fantastic time they had.
Almost everyone said, ‘That’s so Sarah!'” she shared.
Sarah, in the spirit of humor, wrote 14 vows for herself, with the first one being a promise never to relinquish control of the TV remote.
She came up with the idea when she turned 40 during the lockdown.
Sarah decided to treat herself to a diamond engagement ring she had always desired.
Her wedding included a traditional white sequined gown, a tiered cake topped with a figurine of a bride kissing a frog, and her mother walking her down the aisle.
Her friend and professional wedding planner, Katherine Cresswell, conducted the ceremony.
Yearning for Mr.Right
“As much as it was about Sarah, it was also about bringing everyone together,” Katherine noted.
“There’s always a need for celebration, and I think we need it more than ever right now.”
Even though she had her perfect wedding day, Sarah Wilkinson has not ruled out the possibility of meeting a future partner.
“Not at all… but it was just a case of giving up the search because it’s a lot of effort,” she explained.
