A 50 year-old-man was on Tuesday, April 23 evening hacked to death at a bar in Makutano town, Kapenguria, West Pokot County, in a suspected love triangle.
The suspect, identified as Benjamin Limakwang, a watchman stationed at Huduma Centre in the area, is reported to have hidden a panga inside a sack before ambushing Peter Ngoriana, attacking him with the weapon, inflicting multiple deep cuts before fleeing the scene.
Confirming the incident, West Pokot County Criminal Investigations Officer Daniel Musangi says the incident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. at Regency Club, where Ngoriana was attacked while he was enjoying a drink.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect believed the deceased was involved in a romantic relationship with his wife.
The police boss, however, maintains that the wife in question was not present at the scene at the time of the attack.
The body was taken to Kapenguria County Referral Hospital mortuary as police continue the manhunt for the suspect who is on the run.
