The government of Kenya is seeking to find individuals who are willing to take up jobs in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the new labour export schemes, the Ministry of Labour is planning to send 500 nannies and 600 motorcycle riders to the Gulf region.
On Thursday December 5, 2024, Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua urged qualified candidates to get ready to submit their applications.
He announced that a Human Resource team from Saudi Arabia is currently in Kenya with the urgent objective of hiring 500 nannies.
Additionally, Mutua indicated that representatives from a company in the United Arab Emirates will be visiting Kenya next week to interview and recruit motorcycle riders.
According to Mutua, the compensation package offers up to Ksh. 104,000 per month for boda boda riders and between Ksh. 41,000 and Ksh. 52,000 for nannies.
Candidates aspiring to become boda boda riders will need to pay Ksh. 167,900 to cover the HR provider fee, airfare, medical expenses, and visa processing.
Those applying for nanny positions will be required to pay a medical fee of Ksh. 13,500.
This latest recruitment initiative comes shortly after the government paused a mass job recruitment exercise to allow for the processing of previously successful candidates.
Mutua explained that this decision was made to assess the current progress and ensure alignment with the requirements of recruitment agencies and the needs of job seekers.
