Police in Kericho County have launched a search for a woman following the demise of a 60-year-old pastor.

The deceased has since been identified as David Kiplangat, who was an assistant pastor at a Seventh Day Adventist Church.

According to police reports, Kiplangat spent the night at Kapsoit Trading Centre in the company of a woman on Wednesday, January 17.

The two booked a room at a lodging for merrymaking. It appears that the ‘man of God’ consumed sex enhancement pills to stir up their night.

Things took a dark turn however after the pastor lost consciousness. The young woman who accompanied him to the lodging swiftly informed the management before vanishing.

Police from Kapsoit Police Station responded to a distress call from the lodging where they found the lifeless body of the preacher.

The officers recovered a used condom from the scene alongside other materials before transferring the body to Kericho County Referral Hospital awaiting an autopsy.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the body no visible injuries, although the autopsy will ascertain cause of death.

Belgut Sub-County Police Commander Charles Kibati confirmed the incident, saying investigations into the incident had kicked off and a manhunt for the missing woman already launched.

“He was found dead with no visible injuries. He had no clothes at the time,” he added.

The National Library of Medicine noted there was a rise in consumption of sexual enhancement drugs to resolve erectile dysfunction.

“Already in widespread use, the market for PDE-5i is steadily growing as the population ages. Counterfeiters are taking advantage of this growing market by developing illicit and counterfeit,” read part of their report.

In 2021, the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK) cautioned men against the use of the ‘blue pill’ without the advice of a qualified medical practitioner and a valid prescription.
