Seven Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officers on Monday January 15, narrowly escaped death after a boat they were travelling in capsized in the Indian ocean near the Kiwayu Chandani area in Lamu County.
The soldiers were ferrying supplies from the Manda camp in Magogoni, Hindi ward, when they faced the unfortunate incident.
This was as a result of prevailing strong waves and high-speed winds that rocked the boat.
Luckily, the soldiers were rescued by local fishermen who responded on time to offer help.
Unfortunately, all the food supplies in the boat including bags of rice, potatoes, sugar, and oil, sank and were lost during the incident.
