Dr Rachel Githiomi pursued a Doctorate of Philosophy in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Hematology and Blood Transfusion).
This was, however, not an overnight success story as her higher education commenced with a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology, then later got a diploma and a higher diploma.
She joined Mount Kenya University (MKU) to pursue her degree and fell in love with the prestigious institution. She trusted MKU with her academia going forward until she achieved the highest academic qualification.
The journey was inspired by the urge to satisfy curiosity as to the factors behind miscarriages in women.
