Renowned entertainer Abel Mutua may be known for his humour and storytelling, but beneath the laughter lies a man who isn’t afraid to embrace his emotions.
At least in front of his wife.

During a candid interview with media personality Dr. Ofweneke, the actor and scriptwriter revealed that he has cried in front of his wife, Judy, only twice in their years together.
The first time was on their wedding day, and the second was when he lost his mother.
Though he believes men should be more in touch with their emotions.
He jokingly admitted that he avoids crying in public for one simple reason,he doesn’t like how he looks when he does.
“Bro, you’ll make me start crying here, and there are ladies present!” he quipped during the interview.

Why Abel destroyed his wedding footage
One of the most emotional moments in Abel’s life was his wedding day.
As he watched Judy walk down the aisle, tears filled his eyes.
However, he later made a drastic decision and destroyed all the wedding footage to erase any evidence of his tears.
“I cried a little at my wedding… nililia kidogo. But I took the DVD, smashed it, and threw it in the dustbin,” he confessed with a laugh.
His mother’s absence on his wedding day
One of the main reasons his wedding day was so emotional was the absence of his mother.
Abel lost her just two weeks after deciding to turn his life around, a loss that still weighs heavily on him.
“My mom never got to enjoy my Tahidi High money properly.
She never met her grandchild. I always imagined that when I finally got married, she would be there celebrating with me, saying, ‘
This boy who gave me such a hard time has finally made something of himself.’”
He recalled how painful it was to watch his wife walk down the aisle with her mother while his own was missing from the moment.
“That thing really hurt me. I kept thinking, ‘If only mom had held on a little longer.’”
Abel revealed that just days after sharing the news that they were expecting a child, his mother passed away.
“We told her at the end of September, and by October 5th, she was gone. That still hurts me to this day.”
While he continues to entertain and inspire, Abel’s journey is a testament to the fact that even the strongest men have moments of deep emotion and that’s okay.
