Activist Boniface Mwangi abducted

Activist Boniface Mwangi was on Sunday October 27, 2024 abducted by unknown people from his Machakos home.

Confirming the abduction, his wife Njeri Mwangi said the activist was picked up by unknown people on Sunday at around 7: 15 am.

“This morning at around 7.15, six uninformed people went to courage base and forcefully took my husband from the house. I have no idea who, why or where they have taken him,” Boniface Mwangi’s wife stated.

This comes a day after Mwangi revealed plans to disrupt the Standard Chartered Marathon, scheduled on Sunday, October 27.

In a statement posted on his social media pages on Saturday, the activist urged his supporters to show up for the marathon with attire opposing the Kenya Kwanza regime.

He had urged his followers to adorn the national flag as part of their sports gear, wear hats with the national colours, record anti-government chants during the marathon and carry placards with messages to President Ruto.

Meanwhile, security was enhanced during the marathon, with major roads blocked for the safety of those participating.

At the same time, police revealed they were ready to handle any form of security threat from the planned protests.
