Activist Boniface Mwangi blasts KDF over Uhuru Gardens renovations

National NewsNews

Activist Boniface Mwangi has blasted the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) over its renovation of Uhuru Gardens.

According to him, the country spent billions on the grounds only for it to end up looking like a basic village stadium.

Mwangi’s anger stems from Kenyans praising how well done and organized the Kendrick Lamar audience was.

Kenyans who managed to attend the concert praised how well organized and put together it was.

According to Mwangi, Kenya would also have well-put concerts if it wasn’t for the deep-rooted corruption in our societal systems.

“That could be Kenya any day but we are a corrupt nation, almost beyond redemption.”

Why is Uhuru Gardens bad?

After millions were poured into the park, many were left with mixed reactions over the results.

“You can’t hold a decent event at Uhuru Gardens when it rains unless you tell your guests to wear gumboots because the grounds become a mud bath.” Mwangi highlighted.

“They also failed to light the perimeter fence. I was there for a concert last month all manner of characters, including police officers were hiding in that darkness randomly stopping people.”

Moreover, Mwangi highlighted that one could easily get mugged in and out of the Uhuru Gardens grounds due to the poor state of lighting.

“You could easily get mugged outside, or inside the grounds. Corruption has hampered our growth as a nation.”

Mwangi did not hold his words back over the general expectation from the KDF in his post.

“We expected a world-class stadium built by the military but they built us a village football field”
