AFC Leopards’ struggles under the leadership of head coach Tom Juma continued into the fourth round of the 2023/24 Kenyan Premier League season as they once again failed to secure a victory.
Although they managed to score a goal for the first time this season, AFC Leopards were held to a 2-2 draw by a spirited Kenya Police FC at the Kasarani Stadium.
Kenya Police, who have made significant investments in their squad during recent transfer windows, also entered the Kasarani showdown in pursuit of their first win.
Kenneth Muguna opened the scoring for the visitors in the 6th minute after Charles Ouma set him up for a goal. However, Brian Yakhama equalized for Ingwe with a headed goal in the fifteenth minute, marking the club’s first goal of the season.
In the 57th minute, Cliff Nyakeya converted a penalty to give the 1998 league champions their first lead of the season.
However, this advantage was short-lived as Rashid Toha’s headed goal ensured that the points were shared.

Prior to the two-all draw with the Law Enforcers, Juma provided insight into the club’s disappointing start to the 2023/24 Kenyan Premier League season.
Despite having played three matches at the time, Ingwe were yet to find the back of the net and occupied the 12th spot on the league table and Juma had some explanation.
“You have to work every day and every week. If you look at the composition of our team, (we have) a lot of new players. It takes time before they gel,” Juma said.
