Angola are now top of group D of the Africa Cup of Nations AFCON continental show piece after clinching a 2-0 win against Burkina Faso.
Mabululu headed in Fredy’s free-kick nine minutes before the break to put the Palancas Negras ahead.
Burkina Faso winger Dango Ouattara forced a save from Neblu but Zine made sure of the points with a close-range finish in stoppage time.
Both sides had been certain of progress before kick-off because of other results in the final round of games.
However Despite the loss Burkina Faso finished second in the group also to book a round of 16 spot in the AFCON.
This was facilitated by third placed Mauritania’s solitary goal win against 2019 AFCON champions Algeria who are now bottom of Group D.
Angola kicked off their 2024 AFCON campaign with a draw with Algeria in their opening fixture, then clinching a a thrilling 3-2 win over Mauritania on Saturday and now win against Burkina Faso.
This Makes it the first time Angola goes through to the Knockout stage since 2010 AFCON which they hosted and existed in the Quarter-Finals.
They will now face a third-placed side from Group E or F in the last 16 on Saturday, while Burkina Faso will take on the Group E winners next Tuesday.
