The round of 16 of the Africa Cup Of Nations AFCON saw a host of upsets including those of top contenders Egypt and Cameroon.
Host Ivory Coast also pulled off a major upset when it eliminated defending champion Senegal on penalties in the penultimate fixture in the round of 16.

South Africa and Mali are the latest entrance into the quarterfinals list of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Mali are through after a nail-biting 2-1 win over Burkina Faso on Tuesday in Korhogo.
An unfortunate own goal by Edmond Tabsoba along with a second half strike by Lassine Sinayoko were enough for the Mali to soar over Burkina Faso at a packed Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium.
On the other hand South Africa produced one of the major upsets in the Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 after knocking Morocco out with a 2-0 win in the round of 16.
