Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has found himself caught between a rock and a hard place.

He was barred from appearing before the Supreme Court.

A consequence of years spent launching distasteful remarks against the institution and its judges across various media platforms.

In the message, the Registrar highlighted the paradox of the lawyer seeking justice before the very institution and individuals he incessantly berates in the media.

The Court declared, “From the date of this Communication, you shall have no audience before the Court,

either by yourself, through an employee of your law firm, or any other person holding brief for you, or acting according to your instructions.”

Ahmednasir, accused of orchestrating a smear campaign against the highest court and its seven-judge bench, faces consequences for his relentless accusations of corruption and incompetence.

The court references a 2018 warning.

The Senior Counsel was cautioned about future repercussions for continuing his unwarranted attacks.

Despite the court’s exercise of restraint and previous warnings, Ahmednasir persisted with his campaign.

The statement from the Supreme Court revealed

“Over the years, you have relentlessly and unabashedly conducted a campaign in the broadcast, print and social media aimed at scandalizing, ridiculing and outrightly denigrating this Court.”

Outspoken lawyer

The court emphasized that its earlier caution did not deter Ahmednasir.

Moreover, he continued his attacks while ironically filing cases before the very institution he accused.

The statement notes, “The insensitivity and abusive arrogance you continue to display against the Court in your frequent media postings cannot be said to be animated by your quest for Justice.”

Ahmednasir Abdullahi now grapples with the consequences of his persistent and unfounded attacks on the Supreme Court.

Finding himself excluded from its proceedings and facing the fallout of his actions on his clientele and their cases.
