“Mimi sina nafasi ya kuitwa mweusi.” Akothee comes out clear over Kenya, and Tanzania beef.
Kenya and Tanzania are blasting one another again. This time it is about which country can rap.
-Khaligraph start the beef?-
The feud started with Kenyan Rapper Khaligraph Jones.
Khaligraph challenged Tanzanian artists to a rap battle. He belittled the artists for not having any worthy rappers in Tanzania.
His diss has received responses across the board. Some Tanzanian rappers responded with diss tracks of their own.
-Who responded to the diss?-
One such artist is Rosa Ree. She dropped a diss track produced by Binladen titled Mama Omollo.
In her diss track she toys with the Kenyan identity claiming Kenyans are of a darker complexion. This line is borrowed from the notion that fair skin is a representation of beauty.
Such a line enlisted comments from Akothee in her video response siding with Tanzania in the rap beef.
Rosa Rae dubbed herself as the mother of rap. Thus the title “Mama Omollo”
-Who is sitting on the fence?-
However, Heavyweight Tanzanian Rapper Stamina in an interview on East African Radio shared he didn’t have any doubts about Khaligraph’s ability as a rapper.
Stamina has collaborated with Jones before. Stamina ignored the beef saying it is just another thing that happens in music.
Jones is featuring in the current season of Coke studio music rendition Alongside songbird sensation Nikita Kerring.
Khaligraph gave Tanzania 24 hours to respond and present a worthy opponent to represent them.
This has sparked an ongoing feud online between the two countries. Kenyan celebrities and creators have shared their views on the ongoing virtual battle.
-Who sided with Tanzania?-
One such celebrity is Kenyan Entertainer Akothee Schweizer. She posted a video siding with Tanzania.
Akothee criticised Kenyans for saying she is no longer an artist.
She said most of her supporters come from Tanzania.
“Mimi Watanzania ni Marafiki zangu. Kwanza Wakenya mslisema siimbi.” She said. “Most of my fans are coming from Tanzania.”
Popular creator Andrew Kibe commented on feud siding with Kenya. In his podcast, he tells Tanzanian artists to respect Khaligraph in his own right as a rapper.
