Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu is set to join Cape Media-owned audio-visual Swahili radio station Radio47 this coming Monday, August 28.
Mwakideu, who recently quit his job at Milele FM, will host the ‘Breakfast 47’ show alongside renowned presenter Emmanuel Mwashumbe.
In an interview with TV47 radio presenter Ali Hassan Kauleni on Saturday, August 19, Mwakideu confirmed his departure from the Media Max-owned station, while addressing confusion around the matter.
“I handed in my resignation letter and they accepted it. I asked can I leave now and they said yes. So I took to social media to announce my departure,” the renowned media personality began.
Shortly afterward, the station’s management urged him to clarify that he had not left his job, seeing as an official communication letter had not been released.
“Makubaliano yalikuwa yamefanyika. Lakini wakasema nachoma kusema nimetoka bila barua rasmi. Sasa mimi nikarudi mtandaoni kusema sijatoka lakini makubaliano yalikuwepo,” he went on.
Mwakideu revealed that the station was reluctant to let him go, hence the back and forth before receiving written communication to officially exit Milele FM.
The renowned media personality has a career in radio spanning over 10 years.
