Preparations for the 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations that will be held in Kericho County, are in full swing.
Internal Security PS Raymond Omollo on Saturday inspected various infrastructure projects in Kericho that are supposed to be done ahead of the national fete.
Among the projects PS Omollo inspected include the Kericho Green Stadium – the venue of the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
The stadium is currently undergoing a facelift, with the government looking to expand is seating capacity to accommodate 10,00 people.
“The bulk of the work that is being undertaken here has been spearheaded by the technical committee that actually reports to the steering committee.
There has been a lot of work that has gone into making sure that we are here. The main pavilion and the concrete works is 100% done,” PS Omollo said at the Kericho Green Stadium.
PS Omollo also visited the County Commissioner’s residence and Kerenga Airstrip as part of the inspection.
This year’s celebrations will center around Universal Health Care, a crucial pillar aligned with the government’s commitment to achieving the Kenya Vision 2030 targets.
