All set for inaugural FKF Presidential debate

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) is today playing host to the much-anticipated debate for all the nine Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Presidential Candidates.

The presidential debate, organised by Cape Media and Radio Africa Group, comes hot on the heels of the December 7, 2024 hotly contested FKF elections.

The landmark event, which will be broadcasted live on Cape Media’s TV47 and all its social media platforms, will serve as a vital platform for presidential candidates to discuss their visions for the future of the nation’s football.

Nurturing and development of young talents, funding of top-tier leagues as well as grassroot football are among the hot topics that the candidates will be tasked to outline their agenda on.

“The discussion aims to provide transparent insights into how each candidate plans to enhance and support football at all levels,” a statement from Cape Media and Radio Africa Group read in part.

Doris Petra, the current FKF vice president, Barry Otieno (the immediate former FFK Secretary General), Cheris Amimo (Ligi Ndogo Soccer Academy Chairperson), Sammy Owino (former Gor Mahia striker), Sam Nyamweya (a former FKF president), Sam Ochola, Hussein Mohammed, Cleophas Shimanyula (Kakamega Homeboyz FC Chairperson), and Tom Alila are the candidates expected to grace the debate.
