Andrew Kibe: Gen Z is a movement

Internet personality Andrew Kibe has changed his mind about the Occupy Parliament protests, admitting he was wrong to underestimate the growing movement.

In an interview with TV47, Kibe admitted that he never expected the movement to spread so quickly.

He admitted that fear of systemic repercussions initially kept him from participating. “The Gen Z have opened my eyes, honestly.

I was lost and now I’m found. In the beginning, I was very sceptical because I was afraid. I’m afraid of being taken out, I’m afraid of anything,” Kibe confessed.

Kibe apologized to Gen Z, the driving force behind the protests, for underestimating their power.

He acknowledged his mistake and expressed his full support for the movement.

“I didn’t see this movement taking off that fast, and that is my biggest mistake. But I want to assure you that I’m 100% behind you, even if you don’t want me. We are better together,” Kibe said.

Reflecting on his arrest in 2020, Kibe praised Gen Z for their bravery in fighting for a better Kenya.

“When I was arrested, I was alone and broken. I remember Robert Alai called me to a restaurant and asked me to keep quiet. That’s why I commend you, Gen Z.

You have taken the bull by the horns and are standing your ground. I’m not part of the system; I’m with Gen Zs. Wherever you guys want us to go, I’m with you 100%.

Kibe will be on the streets on Tuesday

On Tuesday, I will be on the front line in town, kama mbaya, mbaya,” Kibe stated, confirming his participation in the upcoming protests.

Pressure has been mounting on celebrities and content creators to show support for the protests.

Netizens have threatened to unfollow those who remain silent and boycott brands they promote. In response, several personalities have declared their stance on the Finance Bill 2024 and explained their absence from the protests.

The latest wave of protests on Thursday saw more celebrities joining the streets, Nyashinski, Phillip Kranja
