Anerlisa Muigai defends her mother Tabitha Karanja against politicians’ attacks

Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja’s daughter Anerlisa Muigai is picking fights with politicians attacking her mother for calling for Governor Susan Kihika’s impeachment.

It began with Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai who accused Senator Karanja of being a drunkard.

“The problem with Tabitha Karanja is that she spends more time drinking alcohol than even trying to understand what’s happening in Nakuru County. Please address Governor @susankihika while sober,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Irked by his statement, Anerlisa Muigai took to social media in a stern warning to the first time MCA.

“ROBERT and I repeat ROBERT!!!!! STOP TELLING LIES ABOUT MY MUM!” she wrote on Instagram.

Relentless, Alai fired back terming Anerlisa “a spoiled brat”.

“Parents, tell your spoiled little brats that the only place you can demand to be left alone and not criticized is when not in a public office as elected or appointed official. You can’t be so drunk and clueless while serving as a public officer. We will call you out whether your children likes it or not,” he wrote on X.

This was not the only politician she went at loggerheads with. Anerlisa fired back at nominated Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Milicent Omanga for criticizing the impeachment opinion.

“Senator Tabitha Karanja’s call for the impeachment of Governor Susan Kihika is unfortunate and smacks of hypocrisy. It can’t be gainsaid that the people of Nakuru are in need of services.

“Governor Kihika should be supported to deliver on her mandate without unnecessary diversions and political witch-hunt. For God’s sake, women should stop being their own enemies!” Omanga said.

In response, Anerlisa Muigai described her mother as a hardworking public servant.

“Millicent Omanga don’t try my mum. When she is given a job to do she does at her best, she was given a job by her Nakuru County residence and she will do it at her best,” she added.

The two leaders have been in a tussle over management of War Memorial Hospital.

In a press conference on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, Senator Karanja said Governor Kihika was incompetent for sabotaging operations at the hospital.

Consequently, the first-time senator opined that there were enough grounds for the impeachment of Kihika.
