Another gas leak reported in Mradi area, Embakasi

News

There is a reported gas leak in Mradi area in Embakasi, Nairobi, a place where an explosion killed six people while injuring 28 others.

Kenya Red Cross Society says that they have successfully advised families in the said area to evacuate for their safety.

The Nairobi City County Chief Officer in Charge of Disaster Management Bramwel Simiyu has, however, allayed fears of another tragedy occurring.

Simiyu says that the county has taken the necessary precautionary measures.

Families in the surrounding areas have since been evacuated.

“We have asked the Energy Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) and the experts to come to the scene so that they can identify and isolate the threat if any…we have also put our emergency services on standby,” Simiyu says.
