Anthony Kimani parts ways with Ulinzi after one year in charge

The Kenya Defense Forces-owned Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) side, Ulinzi Stars, has announced the departure of head coach Anthony Kimani after just one season in charge.

Danstan Nyaudo, from the military set, will take over from Kimani to lead the team in the 2024/25 season.

In announcing the changes, the club’s management thanked Kimani for his leadership during his time at the club.

“Ulinzi wishes to express its gratitude to Anthony Kimani for his contributions to the club during his tenure as head coach. Anthony Kimani will always be part of the Ulinzi family,” read the club’s statement.

Kimani expressed his appreciation to everyone associated with the club.

“I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for each and every one of you. This past season has been an incredible journey, filled with challenges, triumphs, and countless memories that I will cherish forever,” he stated on the club’s official website.

“While my time here has been brief, the connections and experiences we’ve shared will stay with me always. I believe in this team’s potential and am confident that great things lie ahead for all of you. I wish you all continued success and happiness, both on and off the field. With deepest gratitude and warmest regards,” he added.

Kimani took over the team before the start of the previous season and faced numerous challenges. The team secured their safety on the penultimate day of the season with a victory over Kariobangi Sharks.
