Detectives on Friday, August 9 conducted a significant operation targeting drug trafficking in Juja area, Kiambu County.
The operation began when officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Transnational Organized Crime Unit discovered a suspicious Toyota Sienta parked next to Georgina Apartments.
Upon investigating the vehicle, they found dried plant material, believed to be cannabis inside the car. The two occupants, David Ochieng Okoth and Christopher Odipo Ochieng, were quickly taken into custody.
The arrest led to the detectives extending their search to two nearby houses in the area. In these locations, they recovered and seized six large sacks filled with cannabis. The total weight of the drugs is still being determined.
The suspects are currently in custody and are being questioned over the same. Law enforcement officials are working to gather more information about their activities and any potential connections to larger drug networks operating in the region.
In light of this operation, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has issued a public statement urging community members to avoid engaging in illegal activities, including drug trafficking.
The DCI has reiterated their dedication to fighting crime and maintaining law and order.
