Renowned Nigerian preacher Apostle Anselm Madubuko has opened up about how he met and eventually married Kenyan gospel singer Emmy Kosgei, revealing the twists of fate that led to their union.
Speaking in an interview with Dr. Ofweneke on TV47, he recalled first meeting Emmy Kosgei in Mombasa during one of his visits. However, at the time, he was married and out of respect for his marriage, chose not to pursue any personal interest.
“I met Emmy in Mombasa, but I was a married man then, so I didn’t approach her,” he recounted. “I just appreciated that she has a calm spirit, and whoever will marry this girl is blessed.”
Tragedy later struck when his wife passed away, leaving him heartbroken and not considering remarriage. However, as time went by, an unexpected suggestion from his son changed his perspective.
“I wasn’t planning to remarry,” he said. “But my son came to me one day and said, ‘Dad, why don’t you talk to Emmy Kosgei?’”
Coincidentally, someone else had also mentioned Emmy Kosgei to him, which he took as a sign to take a step forward.
“When two different people mention the same name, it makes you think. That’s when I decided to approach her,” Apostle Madubuko revealed.
Their relationship soon blossomed, leading to a grand wedding in 2013 that was widely celebrated in both Kenya and Nigeria. Today, the couple continues to serve in ministry, inspiring many with their love story.
Emmy Kosgei, known for her soulful gospel music, has often expressed her gratitude for finding love with Apostle Madubuko. The two have become a power couple in Christian ministry, supporting each other in their calling.
