Apple has announced that in the next 2-3 years quarter of their iPhone production which translate to up to 50 million units of the iPhone will be produced in India.
The global tech giant has joined a long list of manufacturing companies that are moving away from Beijing.
According to the Wall Street Journal, many companies are becoming cautious of their over dependent on China.
This is due to the diplomatic tiff that has been on going between china and the united states fueled during the Trump administration.
Which has since then seen both the US and China banning each others product or restricting usage.
However, China remain Apples largest manufacturer for the iPhone, despite Apple’s plan to cosy up to India they have been facing challenges brought by India’s restrictive labour laws as well as inadequate infrastructure.

The Workers union in India opposed the implementation 11 hour working hours rule that is used in China.
Foxconn factory to produce iPhones in India
Foxconn is the company that will produce the iPhone, the factory is set to be completed in April 2024.
The factory is set to produce 20 million handset annually within the next two years.
Foxconn signaled its commitment to India in late November when it invested the equivalent of more than $1.5 billion in the country.
