Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu has signed a new two-year contract with Arsenal which includes an option to extend by a further year.
Tomiyasu whose contract was set to expire in 2025 has played 73 games in all competitions for the Gunners since joining from Bologna in 2021.
A regular with the Japan national team, ‘Tomi’ has made 41 appearances for his country, which has included playing at a home Olympic Games in the summer of 2021.

Known by everyone at the club as Tomi, the 25-year-old defender started his career with Avispa Fukuoka in his home city of Fukuoka, where he progressed through youth football before making 45 first-team appearances.
Tomiyasu’s new contract is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
