Arsenal have experienced a surprising dip in form, suffering three consecutive defeats and managing a single win in their last seven games.
The three consecutive losses have resulted in them relinquishing the Premier League top spot and being knocked out of the FA Cup.
The slump, however, could not have come at a better time. Arsenal is enduring their worst run this season just as the January transfer window has opened, providing teams with an opportunity to make necessary mid-season reinforcements.
With only two trophies to aim for – the Premier League and the Champions League – Arsenal is aware that they face a challenging task and will likely need to strengthen their squad.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hopeful for reinforcements to get their season back on track. However, having spent handsomely in the summer, including a record £100 million plus £5 million in add-ons on Declan Rice, the Spaniard may not have much to spend before January ends.
Arsenal’s recruitment strategy under Arteta has primarily focused on young talents. According to Football Insider, the Gunners are considering a move for 22-year-old Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.

The Belgium international is already a regular in Sean Dyche’s squad, which was penalized with a ten-point deduction this season for financial violations.
With Everton facing financial challenges, Arsenal is reportedly looking to take advantage of the situation. Although the club values Onana at around £60 million, the Emirates camp believes they can secure the Belgian midfielder at a reduced price.
