Arsenal face an anxious wait regarding the fitness of Bukayo Saka just before their crucial Premier League showdown with Manchester City this weekend.

Saka had been nursing an injury concern following the North London Derby but managed to start the next league game against Bournemouth the following week.

However, another issue cropped up, forcing his late withdrawal and raising questions about his availability for the Champions League match against RC Lens.

Although Saka did start the game against Lens, concerns resurfaced when he had to be substituted during the match, leaving Mikel Arteta with doubts about his participation in the upcoming high-stakes clash against Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta shared, “He tried to backheel a ball in the first half and felt something muscular. He felt uncomfortable to carry on, so we had to take him off.”

Concerning the extent of the injury, Arteta admitted, “We don’t know anything more. It was significant enough to prevent him from continuing to play the game, and that’s a concern for us.”

With just a few days remaining before the pivotal game, where Arsenal has the opportunity to surpass their title rivals, the club is closely monitoring Saka’s condition.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, scans are scheduled for Thursday to assess the severity of his issues.

Currently, the prevailing belief is that it could be a hamstring injury, and his fitness will be evaluated day by day in the lead-up to the match.

The Mail report suggests that in the best-case scenario for a hamstring tweak, a minimum of two weeks may be required for recovery. While the outcome remains uncertain, many are hoping for Saka’s presence in some capacity on Sunday.
