Arturo Vidal has slammed Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag asserting that the Dutchman made a massive error in flushing out Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s contract with United was terminated last November after he gave an interview to Piers Morgan in which he criticized the club’s leadership and Ten Hag’s management.
The 38-year-old forward had an impressive season upon his return to United, scoring 24 goals before his interview that saw him move to Saudi Arabia a month later.
Arturo Vidal who now plays for Athletico Paranaense, contends that Ten Hag’s decision to move Ronaldo out of Old Trafford was a major misstep.
During a recent Twitch stream, Vidal expressed his dismay, stating, “The worst thing is that they applauded Ten Hag when he took out Cristiano. I don’t know how they think, but take Cristiano out? Cristiano was the scorer and they take him out.”
Vidal then added a comment that has been perceived as a veiled dig at Jorge Sampaoli, his former manager during his time at Flamengo, by saying, “bald people are very complicated.”

Vidal’s contract with Flamengo was terminated earlier this year.
Upon his exit from the club in July, he didn’t mince words about Sampaoli, remarking, “I got stuck with a loser coach who did not know how to appreciate his players.”
Cristiano Ronaldo takes Juventus to court
On September 16, 2023, Capemedia.africa reported that Cristiano Ronaldo was planning to take legal action against Juventus due to unpaid salary issues from his time with the club.
According to an article in the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the current Al-Nassr striker had already engaged with the Turin prosecutor’s office and decided to pursue a case against his former team.
The unpaid salary related to a period when Juventus, like all football clubs, faced the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The cost-cutting measures that were adopted to mitigate the effects of the pandemic affected players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now seeking legal action against the club for non-payment of an amount exceeding $20 million.
