Atheists urge Kenyans not to attend Benny Hinn’s mega crusade

The Atheists In Kenya Society has appealed to Kenyans to stay away from Benny Hinn’s crusade.

In a statement to newsrooms, the society president Harrison Mumia accused the American-Canadian televangelist of manipulating countless people to give money to his cause, “believing that giving money will be key to activating their miracle.”

“Not a single one of Hinn’s miracles has ever been verified,” Mumia says.

The society further says that Hinn’s ministry has been investigated by law enforcement agencies in the U.S before.

“Pastor Hinn shamelessly takes money from the poorest of the poor while providing nothing more than religious entertainment. It’s a shame that the Kenyan government has allowed Benny Hinn to fleece poor Kenyans of their hard-earned money through stage managed healing antics.”

Speculations

The Benny Hinn crusade is scheduled for February 24-25 this year at Nyayo National Stadium.

There has been speculations that the crusade is being funded by the government of Kenya, but the steering committee has come out to strongly refute these claims.

The committee chairperson Archbishop Harrison Ng’ang’a said Tuesday, February 13 said the mega crusade has been organised by churches in Kenya as well as Kenyans of goodwill who gave financial support.

“This event has been organised, funded, and coordinated by the Churches of Kenya, which include both mainstream churches and evangelical churches, to connect the Body of Christ in Kenya with the Global Body of Christ,” he said.
