A family in Kalamba Muyo area of Mumoni ward, Mwingi North, is pleading with the government to charge their son in a court of law other than holding him hostage after he was allegedly abducted on Sunday, December 22 in Ngong Town, Kajiado County.
Kalimi Kavuli, the mother of Benard Kavuli who has been missing ever since said he was a journalism student and had just sat for his final exams.
The fourth-year student at Mount Kenya University was reportedly abducted by four armed men at a petrol station in Ngong Town.
CCTV footage from the petrol station captured a white Toyota Probox car driving inside and Kavuli was walking beside it, unaware that the occupants were on a mission to abduct him.
Kavuli’s mother says she has not slept, eaten and has fallen sick ever since he went missing.
The family is convinced the police have their son despite Inspector General Douglas Kanja insisting that National Police Service officers are not behind the recent abductions witnessed in the country.
The family says Kavuli was their only hope, being the first one to ever make it to university.
This prompted the community to demonstrate demanding the government to release him else barricade all main roads in the area.
