Beware of these Facebook accounts! Police warn of fraudsters operating fake Deputy IG Douglas Kanja accounts

The National Police Service (NPS) is warning Kenyans against falling prey to fraudsters purporting to be Deputy Inspector General Douglas Kanja on social media platforms.

A screenshot of one of the fake Facebook account as shared by the National Police Service (NPS). “We wish to caution the public against interacting with multiple fake accounts purporting to belong to the Deputy Inspector General-Kenya Police Service, Mr Douglas Kanja,” NPS warns.

The police say that these accounts are ran by imposters with criminal intent to defraud unsuspecting Kenyans.

“Members of the public are urged to treat these posts as malicious and fake. Please note that DIG-KPS Mr. Kanja does not operate any social media account,” the police add.
