42-year-old Grammy Award winner and popstar Beyonce aka Queen B has officially launched her hair brand ‘Cecred’ with products designed for different hair types.
“Did y’all know my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon?” Beyonce wrote in an Instagram post last year teasing the collection.
The Old Texan pop star went on to say that she grew up admiring the work her mother used to do which is to nurture hair and has always hoped that someday she will carry on her legacy.

“I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy.”
While she announced the launch, Beyoncé shared her own personal hair journey and said that she wanted everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that made them feel good.
“My entire life and career, I’ve worn my hair in so many different: natural, flat-ironed, braids, colored, wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health,” She said.

The Cecred Foundation is an eight-piece suite available through cecred.com, with prices ranging from$20 (Ksh. 3000) to $52 (Ksh. 7,600).
Beyonce revealed in Essence magazine that Cecred is not only science-backed with clinical, salon, and lab testing to show for it but also aims to elevate the sacred rituals of hair care.
The products are restorative and include a clarifying shampoo and scalp scrub in one, a hair mask, and a rose-scented fermented rice treatment meant to be mixed in a dedicated ‘ritual shaking vessel.
Her mother Tina is the company vice chair played a part in the help to develop the product given her experience in the hair business.
“Back then there was no one product that mixed high-tech hair care with the nourishing moisturizers and oils so vital to texture or color-treated hair, so I mixed the two,” Tina told Essence.
