92-year-old billionaire Rupert Murdoch got engaged to his girlfriend, Elena Zhukova, hardly a year after calling off his last wedding.
A spokesperson confirmed the news to CNN on Friday, March 8, just days before Murdoch’s 93rd birthday next Monday.
The spokesperson said that Murdoch and Zhukova’s wedding will be held in California, at the former’s vineyard and estate.
The wedding comes just months after Murdoch stepped down as the chairperson of Fox FOXA.O and News Corp NWSA.O.
It is the second time Murdoch has been engaged in a year. In March 2023, the media mogul announced plants to marry Ann Lesley Smith, though the couple called off the engagement weeks later.
According to Vanity Fair, Murdoch called off the engagement at the time because he was pissed off with Smith’s outspoken evangelical views.
Murdoch married his fourth wife, former actress and model Jerry Hall, in 2016. But after 6 years, they divorced in August 2022.
Zhukova, 67, is from Moscow, Russia. She is a retired molecular biologist.
