Billy Mwangi denies links to duplicate X accounts, says his account is hacked

Billy Mwangi, who was recently released after being abducted, has clarified that he is not currently active on X (formerly Twitter) and denied any association with several accounts under his name.

Mwangi was reunited with his family on Monday January 6, 2025 after more than two weeks of abduction.

“This is Billy Mwangi. Those using my Twitter accounts and parody accounts are not me. I am not on Twitter. My account was hacked and they took my phone. If there’s anything important, I’ll update you,” Billy said in the video.

He thanked his supporters from Nairobi and Embu for their ongoing support and revealed that the ordeal left him mentally and emotionally shaken.

“Even though they shaved me, I’m back and healthy, still recovering slowly,” he added. “I’m not okay mentally, but I’ll be fine.”

Mwangi had been using an X account under the handle @Psychosins, which disappeared shortly after his abduction.

Since his release, several duplicate accounts have appeared, including one named @BillyMwangi_1, which has accumulated over 9,000 followers.

The account posted a message on Monday saying: “I will never use the name psychosins again in my lifetime; it has caused me a lot! Apologies FAM.”
