DCI detectives investigating the murder of Willis Ayieko Onyango, the former Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager, have made an additional arrest.
The sleuths on Monday, November 4 arrested Fredrick Otieno Omondi at Elgons area in Kisumu.
Omondi, who is a bodaboda rider, is believed to have played a significant role in the events preceding the brutal murder.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Omondi provided transport to Victor Ouma, also known as Sisco, to the location where Onyango was abducted.
Sisco is currently in police custody and has been linked to the crime, alongside his deceased brother, Robert Wakolo Okoth, as well as other yet-to-be-identified individuals.
Omondi has reportedly told authorities that after the abduction, the deceased was taken to a certain room, and shortly thereafter, Sisco came out with a Samsung phone.
“He rode Sisco back to Kisumu City, where several withdrawals were made, after which he was paid KSh9000,” a source close to the investigations revealed. “He confirms that Victor was wearing a blue jacket. This is confirmed with already retrieved CCTV footages that captured the said Victor in a blue jacket while making withdrawals.”
The investigation is ongoing, with the DCI actively pursuing several leads to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding Onyango’s murder.
