Police in Machakos County are holding a bodaboda rider who allegedly attempted to raped his client on Saturday, October 5 night.

Reports indicate that the suspect carried a female passenger and instead of taking her to her destination, he changed directions to Katetani area, in the outskirts of Machakos town, and raped her.

Doctors say the woman suffered a broken arm and deep leg cuts in the ordeal.

According Allan Musembi, the Bodaboda Association chairperson in Machakos town, the alleged perpetrator was arrested by locals and taken to Machakos Police Station where he is currently being held awaiting investigations and arraignment in court.

The matter was reported at Machakos Police Station under OB number 8 attempted rape.
