Bomet: Hawker stabs customer to death over failure to pay Ksh25 for boiled egg

Police have launched investigations after a smokie vendor stabbed to death a 20-year-old man over failure to pay Ksh25 for a boiled egg in Mogogosiek Village, Bomet County.

According to the police, the 20-year-old Brian Moi was stabbed to death after failing to pay Ksh25 for a boiled egg.

The family of the victim is now seeking justice for the brutal murder, emphasizing that Moi’s murder could have been avoided.

“My son was not sick. He was killed in a very inhumane way and I want justice to be served,” said his mother.

An eyewitness reported that Brian accidentally hit the vendor’s trolley after buying the egg, leading to an argument.

“He left a pub, ate an egg, and then hit the trolley. That is when the vendor took out a knife and stabbed him,” said a witness.

A similar incident occurred recently in Nakuru County, where a man lost his life after he was attacked by angry residents over the alleged theft of five avocados.

Geoffrey Kamau, who is a father of 7 children met his untimely end when neighbours descended on him with crude weapons after he was found trying to pluck five avocados from a neighbour’s farm.
