Bondo: Angry Parents beat up their daughter, 11, to death over Ksh 200

An 11-year-old girl has lost her life in the hands of her parents for allegedly stealing Ksh.200.

The disturbing incident occurred at their home in Masita village within Bondo in Siaya County.

Gabriela Atieno, the young girl in question, is said to have stolen Ksh.200 belonging to her father, Cornel Ogeno.

This led to her parents caning her on Sunday evening in order to force a confession out of her.

Siaya County Police Commander Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo reported that the parents repeatedly caned the girl until she lost consciousness.

The parents then took her to the nearby Bondo Sub-county Hospital, where she was declared dead upon arrival.

According to Mr.Kimaiyo, a nurse reported that the child was brought with multiple bruises on her body when she was brought to the hospital.

Police officers who visited the hospital also reported the same.

The body has been transfered to Bondo sub-county hospital mortury awaiting autopsy.

Similar incident in Dandora

A similar incident occurred in Dandora, Nairobi where a couple was arrested after they reported the death of their six-year-old daughter in their house.

This took place on Tuesday 12th December as the couple said that their daughter suffered chest complications.

Police who visited the scene say that they suspect that it could be a murder case after they discovered marks around her neck and back.

On November 7th 2023, a woman was arrested for beating her eight-year-old daughter to death on Monday.

The mother of three allegedly used an electric wire to assault the first-grade student in Turitu villagein Kiambu.

“The woman beats her daughter almost every day, and the girl often seeks refuge at a neighbour’s house. Today, I was awakened by the woman beating her daughter once again after she had been brought back by a neighbour,” a neighbour explained.
