Senator Khalwale expressed his elation on social media.
Khalwale thanked his family, St. Brigids High School-Kiminini, and, above all, God for guiding Gift Atubukha Khalwale to this significant milestone.
The senator’s celebratory post, however, triggered social media trolls.
Most questioned the size of Khalwale’s family, suggesting he celebrates a child in every national exam.
Unfazed by the criticism, Khalwale responded directly, questioning whether having many children was a problem.
“Omera, kwani shida iko wapi?” he retorted, displaying resilience against the online negativity.

In response to another inquiry about the number of children he had, Khalwale humorously mentioned that he could only disclose the number of girls, attributing it to cultural norms.
Despite the trolls, some netizens extended congratulations to Khalwale for consistently ensuring his children performed well in national examinations.
One user, Farhiya Abass, lauded Khalwale and his family for producing excellent candidates every year, acknowledging the significant achievement.
Acknowledging the new grading system introduced in 2023, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu emphasized that the 2023 KCSE results considered Mathematics, the best-performed language subject (English/Kiswahili/Kenyan Sign Language), and the best-performed five subjects.
He further directed the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) to conduct a robust career awareness campaign among the 2023 KCSE candidates.
