Suellen Carey, a Brazilian woman who made international headlines last year for marrying herself in a symbolic ceremony, has now attracted global attention once again after filing for divorce—only to receive an overwhelming 1,500 marriage proposals from admirers across the world.

Carey, a model and influencer, became a symbol of self-love and empowerment when she decided to take an unconventional step by marrying herself in a lavish ceremony London in 2023.

Her decision to marry herself, also known as “sologamy,” was a public celebration of independence, self-acceptance, and personal growth.
