Bruno Mars breaks records as Spotify’s first artist to hit 150 million monthly listeners

Bruno Mars has once again etched his name into music history, becoming the first artist to surpass 150 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

This monumental achievement comes despite not releasing a solo album since his 2016 masterpiece, 24K Magic.

Instead, Mars has dominated the charts with a streak of chart-topping collaborations, showcasing his enduring appeal and unmatched versatility.

The record-breaking milestone was fueled by a string of hits, including “Die With a Smile,” his mid-tempo duet with Lady Gaga.

The track, released in August 2024, has amassed nearly 1.7 billion Spotify streams, becoming his ninth Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper and opening 2025 in the number-one spot.

Following that success, his October collaboration with Rosé, “Apt.,” surged past the billion-stream mark, peaking at No. 5 on the Hot 100.

Adding to the momentum, Mars recently dropped the provocative “Fat Juicy & Wet,” a collaboration with Sexyy Red.

Accompanied by a celebratory music video featuring his recent collaborators, including Gaga and Rosé.

The track is already turning heads and adds to the excitement surrounding Mars’s current dominance in the music scene.

Mars’s 150 million listener milestone arrives just in time for the Grammy Awards this Sunday, where he’s nominated alongside Gaga for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Meanwhile, his collaboration with Rosé, “Apt.,” has made waves internationally, earning the title of best-selling song in the U.S.

Further spending 12 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart.

The track’s success also makes it the first K-pop song to achieve this feat.

Bruno Mars hasn’t released a solo album in nearly a decade.

His 2021 collaboration with Anderson Paak as Silk Sonic gave fans the critically acclaimed An Evening With Silk Sonic.

The album’s standout single, “Leave the Door Open,” won four Grammys, including Record and Song of the Year, further cementing his legacy as a music powerhouse.

Bruno Mars continues to prove that his star power is as potent as ever.

Solidifying his status as one of the most influential artists of this generation.
